I chose to go to Grennaskolan because I have lived abroad my whole life and my parents wanted me to have a Swedish education and to experience living in Sweden. We specifically chose Grennaskolan because my brother attended their summer school and had had an unbeatable experience.
The best thing about going to Grennaskolan is the people you meet and the unique bond you get. Everyone comes from different places with completely different backgrounds but what many of us has in common is that they have left their home and their family, so everyone is there for each other and because of that your friends become your family and the school becomes your home.
I have approximately 4 classes a day and end between 15:00 and 16:00. After school I hang out with my friends until its time for dinner. After dinner we usually have some sort of activity, for example kickboxing or circuit training. When we return from the activity it is “läxis” at the dorms so I do the homework that was handed out during the day. After that I do something with my friends like watching a movie or going to the schools’ hangout area, Café Inex. At 22:00 we have to be back at the dorms and at 11 it’s “tyst tid” so then I usually watch an episode of a series and start getting ready for bed.

The decision to start studying at Grennaskolan was initially a proposition from my parents, since they had heard so much good about the school. I got interested, applied and was granted entrance. Continuing at the Upper Secondary after the High School level was more or less a natural step. When I pass my exam this coming spring I shall have spent six years at Grennaskolan. Why swopping schools when you are already attending the best one?
The best thing about Grennaskolan is that you get a chance to a good education, since there are many teachers in proportion to the number of students. In smaller groups you´ll easily get the help you need. Since the school is so small you also get to know everybody. You are being noticed like in a good family.
A usual day at Grennaskolan starts the same way as in any other school. Breaks and blank hours are spent in the students´ dayroom. The lunches are excellent and often finished with a friendly chat over a cup of coffee before classes are resumed. In the afternoon the school offers a large number of activities for the boarding school students, where local students also are welcome.

When I was looking for high schools my dad told me about the boarding school he went to, Grennaskolan. I was mildly interested and decided to see what was so special about the small school in the town known for its candy canes. I liked the size of the school, there were less than 300 students in 6 grades, which means that you get a lot of time with the teachers, I could never find a school that size in Gothenburg. And when I started to really think about it I had a choice between a school with many students in Gothenburg or a boarding school where I would leave home and do something completely different. For me the answer was obvious and though I missed my friends and my family a lot over the year I did not regret choosing Grennaskolan.
My favorite things about Grennaskolan are the small classes, the attention that each student gets and the amazing food that cannot go unmentioned.
An ordinary day at Grennaskolan starts at 8.10, has some free periods and ends around 15.30. After school and on the weekends I usually do my homework and hang with my friends at the dorm
